Executive Director: Amy Miller
Amy has worked with LLA since 2011, first as a volunteer, then as a board member, and now as the organization's first Executive Director. Amy is a native Louisvillian and a graduate of the University of Lousiville MA in English program and the Spalding University MFA in Writing program (creative nonfiction). She has worked as a freelance writer, writing instructor, grant writer, and bookseller. Her essays have appeared in Salon, Hippocampus Magazine, [PANK], The Louisville Review, and Under The Gum Tree, among others. She is the recipient of the Harpur Palate 2017 Nonfiction Award and received Honorable Mention in the Flyway Journal Notes From the Field Nonfiction competition. When Amy isn’t working for LLA, she is revising her first collection of essays or arranging carpools with her husband and two kids.
Intern: Kay Shamblin
Kay is a senior at the University of Louisville, where she is currently working on her BA in English and a minor in creative writing. Her poetry has appeared in the White Squirrel and OROBORO. She spends most of her free time writing, crocheting, and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
