Support LLA with a donation!
Louisville Literary Arts is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit writing center. Our organization grew out of the popular InKY Reading Series, which began in 2004, to support an annual writer's gathering, the Writer's Block Festival. The first festival was held in 2010 and our organization received its nonprofit status in 2014. Since then, we've grown even more, hosting one-day and weekly writing workshops throughout the city as well as an annual summer retreat, monthly writers' meet-ups, and bi-monthly open mics. We bring new and emerging writers to the stage to share their work and talented writing instructors lead our workshops. Our goals are to educate and entertain the local writing community, promote the work of regional writers, connect writers with their community, and to do so in a way that breaks down barriers of access.
Did you know that LLA operates with a staff of one part-time director and a board of directors who volunteer their time? It's true, we believe in providing excellent programs and events, but depend on the support of grants and community donations. Our budget may be small, but our hearts and minds are vast. Please help support our efforts to become Louisville's first writing center with a donation.
