Work at Louisville Literary Arts

Louisville Literary Arts is a nonprofit literary center that serves local, regional, and national readers and writers through writing classes, literary events, and professional development. Our programs provide opportunities for writers to connect with one another, strengthen their craft, and promote their work in a supportive environment that welcomes all who believe in the power of language.

While we are a small organization, we are continually growing and accessing our impact. Current operations and policies are maintained by a part-time, remote staff and volunteer board of directors. Our educational programs are taught by a contract faculty of award-winning published authors, poets, and university professors or in collaboration with partner organizations, agencies, or businesses.

Faculty Applications

We are always open to new instructors and welcome you to submit your class proposal and CV on a rolling basis. We  recommend attending LLA events and generally familiarizing yourself with our programs before you apply. Click here to apply.

Inclusivity Statement

Louisville Literary Arts is committed to the principles of inclusion and equal employment. We welcome all participants, employees, and volunteers, whatever their gender, race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, education, or disability. We value and respect diverse life experiences and heritages and ensure that all voices are heard. We commit to creating a diverse community by nurturing an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming environment.
